Hello, my name is Magda De Smet.

In the 80's I finished my arts degree specialising in fashion and textile design.

Daily work guided me into a totally different world and art became a hobby.

In 2015 due to a burnout I was advised to look for something to keep my mind and body healthy.

The decision to pick up art again was easily made and I took up photography lessons.

It soon became clear that photography is ideal for translating my inner world.

Dreamy images capturing a moment of quietude and introspection

An abstract reality where emotion and reason become an entity.

In June 2024 I obtained my diploma of photographic art including the professional qualification "amateur photographer level 4" from the Flemish Qualifications Framework (VKS).

laureate Kunstacademie Geraardsbergen Beeld

I received an honorary award with following message 'For her artistic achievements in photographic art and the mastery of the artistic process. This has become a significant, meaningful, and indispensable part of her individual expression."
